Sammie Saxon, an American photographer from Atlanta, Georgia, is widely recognized for his role in Ron Howard and Canon's Project Imagination and for his role in discovering Victoria's Secret model Maggie Laine.
Growing up poor and immersed in art, Sammie drew inspiration from his family members, particularly his mother, an illustrator, and his uncle, a determined  handicapped folk artist. These early influences instilled in him a passion for storytelling, a theme that permeates his artistic endeavors.
His journey into photography began in childhood when he discovered his fascination with capturing moments through a Kodak 110 camera. Recognizing his potential, a teacher secured a scholarship for him, propelling him towards formal art education and eventual recognition in the industry. Sammie Saxon gained notable recognition after participating in Ron Howard’s Canon’s Project Imagination, an online film festival where celebrities selected images shot with Canon cameras to inspire their short films. His photograph, titled "Lost In Blue," was featured in Vanity Fair and garnered viral attention when Ron Howard, Eva Longoria, and Biz Stone utilized it for their respective short films. Following this success, Saxon became a finalist in the subsequent Project Imagination contest for his comedic documentary focusing on a contestant from America’s Next Top Model.
In addition to his achievements in photography and filmmaking, Saxon is committed to nurturing a supportive and inclusive community for local artists. Alongside his partner Berkly Martin, he has organized community art shows that offer emerging talents a platform while also contributing to charitable causes.
